Woolworths Ballajura Renewal

The Woolworths store at Ballajura Central shopping centre recently underwent a refurbishment project to provide upgraded layout and services. DEM was engaged to design the mechanical services for the project. The scope for the deisgn included: recommissioning the outside air intake of the existing AHU to ensure that the store is continually in positive pressure; providing new air conditioning to serve the remodelled Team Room, Planning Room, Staff Offices, and Direct-to-Boot; and new ventilation systems to serve the Stock Room, Bakery Ovens, and Cleaners area. The existing BMS controls were modified to accommodate all new controls and functionality for the new systems.

During the construction phase our role involved reviewing shop drawings equipment selections and responding to RFIs.  We also undertook a practical completion inspection, ensuring the mechanical services were installed to the requirements of the mechanical specification and Woolworths HVAC Brief. Finally, we provided further support to ensure that all or any identified defects were rectified prior to the reopening of the store.
