Welcome to Devlin Engineering & Management.

We are a Western Australian company offering a diverse range of engineering services supporting the construction and property industries.

We're all about engineering performance.

Whether it is environmental, cost, aesthetic, operational, program or whole-of-life performance, DEM is committed to embracing your brief and goals. We take an approach of first-rate client service and engineering rigour, applying our experience, ingenuity, and imagination to achieve your objectives.

Our goals are twofold:

Goal 1:
To facilitate the achievement of your goal. Your goal is our goal. We want to help our clients achieve their objectives by developing a deep understanding of their business and aims, and by deploying second-to-none engineering expertise, advice, consultation, and support.

Goal 2:
To drive projects to their highest performance potential. We imagine, transform and design to enable your project to achieve its highest potential economic, social, and environmental performance throughout its entire lifecycle.

Our Commitment to our clients

Working with you. We aim to add significant value to your business and your project through helpful and meaningful assistance and advice.

Performance. All our services are designed to engineer performance for you. We understand that a design, building, or process is a means to an end. We first ask what performance means for your business and then we wrap our engineering around your needs. We work to your requirements and objectives; not ours.

Experience. We have extensive experience in contracting and consulting across numerous sectors across Australia, and in the UK. We bring the benefits of this experience directly to you and your project.

Sustainable. We embed sustainability into our engineering – balancing economic, social, and environmental factors throughout the lifecycle of the project. We believe that truly sustainable decisions should demonstrate an ongoing tangible benefit to our clients and the wider community.

We believe in Australia. We use local people and local products wherever possible.

A unique skillset. We don’t just carry engineering degrees; we are also qualified in other key fields. DEM sees the bigger picture and looks to bring new ideas and solutions into consideration for the benefit of your project.

Continuity. We understand the importance of continuity of personnel to projects. When we nominate a particular team member to work on your project, that’s who you will get.

Rigour. We research solutions. We critically review and apply science to what we do. We are thorough; we use the latest software, analysis, and engineering techniques to bring you real, demonstrable value.

We make it easy for you. We use jargon-free reporting and clear communication with properly supported recommendations. We lay out the options clearly and convey the benefits and drawbacks of each, to ensure decision-making is easy.

We manage your risk . Our own behind-the-scenes critical review and risk mitigation strategies protect our clients and their interests.

Practical. We understand the local market, constructability, and what can and can’t be achieved. We aim to provide simple and elegant solutions to complex problems.

We understand our place in the project. We are just one part of a wider project team so we work to balance all factors to achieve the best outcome for our clients. We believe high performing buildings should look good, feel good and lift the spirit. This can only be achieved with an integrated team approach.

We take the journey with you. When you engage us on your project, we will walk with you until is finished. We want to see your project completed and working to your satisfaction long into the future.

Our Projects

Over the last decade, the DEM team has delivered almost 1,000 projects and assignments in WA, Australia and overseas. The interactive map below highlights the buildings in and around Perth, WA – and beyond – that we have been involved with.

Giving to the Community

The Beacon

The Beacon

Since 2014, DEM has proudly provided operational funding towards The Salvation Army’s homeless facility, The Beacon. The 102-bed accommodation centre is a pivotal redevelopment in The Salvation Army’s response to men’s homeless in Western Australia. The building includes graduated levels of accommodation to provide different living arrangements as clients move from homelessness to independence.

Compassion

compassion

DEM supports Compassion Australia through their child sponsorship program, and through giving to disaster relief appeals. DEM currently sponsors two children in Thailand, and one child in Haiti. The current disaster relief fund is providing resources for alleviating the effects of the COVID19 pandemic as it hits communities already made vulnerable by poverty.

Salvation Army Disaster Appeal

Salvos bushfire

DEM is proud to support the ongoing work of the Salvation Army Disaster Appeal which was launched during the unprecedented bushfire season of 2019-20. The Disaster Appeal supports evacuees and emergency personnel, from the crisis point into the recovery and rebuilding phases.

Pregnancy Problem House

PPH logo

DEM is proud to support the work of Pregnancy Problem House in Western Australia. Pregnancy Problem House provides free, non-judgmental support for teens, women and couples distressed or disadvantaged by a past or current pregnancy. Pregnancy Problem House’s free services include pregnancy testing, counselling, mentoring, education, and resources.

Push Up Challenge

push up

Since 2020, the DEM Team has completed the annual push-up challenge. Over the course of 21-days we each complete over 3,000 push-ups, representing the average number of lives lost in Australia to suicide each year. All proceeds go to Headspace, National Youth Mental Health Organisation. Headspace is an organisation working to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians.

Graceville

Graceville

The Salvation Army’s Graceville centre in WA is a refuge for women and children who have been impacted by family violence. Their aim is to support women who are homeless and disempowered by family & domestic violence to become independent and self-determining contributors of society. DEM is a proud supporter of the program, covering the cost of a bed for the year in the program.

Fred’s Big Run

Freds Big Run 2020

The DEM team completed The Fred’s Big Run challenge in August 2020, covering a combined total of over 500km of running, walking and hiking during the month. Our efforts combined with our generous sponsors raised $1,000 in donations for the Fred Hollows Foundation, which is enough to restore the sight of 40 people. The Fred Hollows Foundation’s mission is to work towards a world where no person is unnecessarily blind.

Morley Salvation

Morley Salvation

The Morley Salvation Army Corps is one of the few corps in Australia that has the capability of providing support for high school-aged young people who are experiencing hardships which, more often than not, are caused by circumstances outside of their control. The Morley Corps Youth Service provides mental, emotional, and physical support to these young people so they can succeed in life and look forward to a brighter future.
