Curtin University Interim Trading Room, Agency and GLS

DEM was engaged to validate the concept design, survey the existing HVAC system and worked with Curtin's maintenance team to upgrade the Trading Room, Agency and General Learning Spaces in Building 402, supporting the Faculty of Business and Law's accreditation standing after Building 408 closed. When the chilled water system proved short on capacity, we switched to DX units and resolved an acoustic issue with the installation of attenuators. DEM saw the project through the design, tender, and construction periods, working through asbestos removal and coordination delays. The spaces now run on VRF systems with ducted fan coil units, giving the occupants comfortable, quiet, and presentable rooms that can revert to standard teaching space once Building 408 reopens.
