CSIRO Precinct

The CSIRO Perth Precinct Project was an estimated $50M laboratory renewal project in a 'live' building environment.

This project involved the commissioning process of physical and bio-secure containment upgrades in a live laboratory. The upgrade has happened across multiple stages. It is a highly technical building serving a myriad of functions, and the work being done will convert an otherwise end-of-life facility to a best practice condition.

DEM authored the coordinated witnessing scripts that integrated the physical and bio-secure containment requirements in addition to the laboratory end-user and design consultant requirements. DEM assisting SHAPE in driving the staged handover of laboratories over the period of 2-years. DEM provided detailed tuning analysis of the HVAC systems of the labs to confirm that the laboratory pressure regimes and temperature requirements are meeting the design parameters. Throughout the tuning period, DEM identified HVAC equipment (both new and existing) that were not operating to their full potential. DEM ensured that the tuning actions were implemented and resolved through consultation with SHAPE, CSIRO and Jacobs.
