Alkimos Aquatic Recreation Centre

The new Alkimos Aquatic Recreation Centre is equipped to serve the burgeoning population of Perth’s northern suburbs, with state-of-the-art sports and recreation facilities. Key features of this project include:

  • An eight-lane, 50-metre competition pool (the first in the City of Wanneroo)
  • An eight-lane, 25-metre lap pool
  • A leisure pool
  • A warm-water program pool
  • A health suite (including spa, sauna, and steam room)
  • A four-court indoor sports stadium with seating for 500 spectators
  • Gym, health club facilities, group fitness and Pilates studio
  • Creche and café.

DEM assisted PS Structures by providing commissioning management and support throughout the construction and handover phase of the project. We assisted in coordinating the sequencing and management strategy to commission and handover key building services such as:

  • HVAC systems
  • Building management system and controls
  • Pool heating systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Lighting and control
  • Access control, security and CCTV
  • ICT and communications infrastructure
  • Fire systems
  • And AV systems.

Key areas where DEM provided assistance to PS Structures and the project include:

  • Commissioning risk reviews on services documentation
  • Commissioning management plans and strategy
  • Specific trade commissioning strategy reviews
  • Commissioning programming and sequencing
  • On-site commissioning coordination and meetings
  • On-site witnessing functionality and commissioning validation
  • Review of commissioning documentation
  • And the planning of post PC DLP tuning of HVAC system control.
